Our mission is to enrich cultural awareness and
appreciation in the community by bringing the art of story ballet to young audiences.
Founded by two ballet dancers, Susan Cade and Michele MacDonald, Pages to Pirouettes has been bringing
the arts of storytelling and ballet to audiences of all ages since 1996. A collective of dancers and
actors, we perform abridged versions of the grand story ballets in schools, museums, libraries, churches,
senior communities, and other venues. To date, Pages to Pirouettes has performed more than 400 shows
throughout Greater Philadelphia.
We believe that ballet should be both magical and accessible. At each performance, we read the story aloud,
dance the story in beautiful costumes with whimsical sets and props, and, after our bows, invite the
audience to join us in a few dance steps, ask questions, even inspect our costumes.
We invite you to explore the site to learn more about Pages to Pirouettes: our artists, our
current repertoire, and our performances past, present and future.
